Maria Claudia Bergantin
The maestro joerg demus has said about her:
Maria Claudia Bergantin is one of the few Italian singers who can demonstrate their vocal art in both Italian and German. It is rare to listen to Schubert or Schumann’s Lieder with such comprehension and vocal perfection from an Italian singer. Her voice – that of a lyric soprano – is warm and extensive, and I can strongly recommend her especially for the Italian and German chamber operas (Haydn and Mozart) and – very unusual thing – for German Lieder as well.
